Knitted scarf

Just like crochet, it was my mum who taught me how to knit. I learnt only the basics many years ago, but lately I have been wanting to improve my poor knitting skills.
This scarf was my first attempt in many years, and although some stitches are looser, some tighter, it didn't turn out bad at all :)

Assim como o croché, foi a minha mãe quem me ensinou a tricotar. Aprendi apenas o básico há muitos anos atrás, mas ultimamente tenho tido vontade de aperfeiçoar o que sei.
Este cachecol foi a minha primeira tentativa em muitos anos e, apesar de ter algumas malhas mais soltas, outras mais apertadas, não saiu nada mal :)

J-Pouch : One year later

It's been a long time since I last posted anything about my J-pouch and that's all because there isn't in fact much to tell, but today my J-pouch is 1 year old and I thought it deserved a dedicated post.

I'm fortunate enough to say it was a successful surgery and that I have been living a very normal life. Obviously, my digestive track does not function like a "normal" one. I have a whole organ missing and an internal pouch created from the end of my small bowel in its place. No matter how amazing that is, it will never be as perfect as a normal and healthy large bowel. As long as I understand and accept that, which I do most of the time, I can appreciate the amazing change the J-pouch has done to my life.

Já há bastante tempo que não escrevo aqui nada sobre a minha bolsa ileoanal, e isto deve-se ao facto de na verdade não ter muito para contar, mas hoje a minha bolsa ileoanal faz um 1 ano e achei que merecia um post dedicado.

Sou afortunada o suficiente para dizer que foi uma cirurgia de sucesso e que tenho tido uma vida muito normal. Obviamente, o meu aparelho digestivo não funciona como um aparelho digestivo "normal". Falta-me um órgão inteiro e, a substitui-lo, tenho uma bolsa interna feita a partir da parte final do intestino delgado. Não importa o quão incrível esta bolsa é, nunca será tão perfeita como um intestino grosso saudável. Desde que entenda e aceite este facto, o que acontece a maior parte do tempo, posso apreciar a mudança maravilhosa que a bolsa ileoanal fez na minha vida.

One-thousand-and-eighty-nine-hexagons quilt : Progress

The one-thousand-and-eight-nine-hexagons quilt is still in progress. There is still definitely loads of work to do but it is already possible to get an idea of how it is going to turn out once it's finished.
To make it easy to assemble, I have sewn the hexagons together in groups, and later I will sew these groups together to achieve the complete quilt top.
Have a look at the picture, you'll the idea!

O quilt mil-e-oitenta-e-nove-hexágonos ainda está em andamento. Há ainda muito que fazer mas já é possível ter uma ideia de como vai ficar depois de pronto.

Para ser mais fácil de montar, comecei por costurar os hexágonos em grupos, depois vou costurar esses grupos uns aos outros para obter a frente do quilt completa.
